I have an HD33 but I'd be interested in how you get on as my dad is interested in going projector and the HD33 was a bit rich.

Bought one last week, installed Thursday.

Upgraded from a HD67 and 3DXL.

Noticeable increase in resolution, picture much sharper with a HD source. Contrast is massively better.

Much better connectivity
Nicer looking unit in black

Only issue I have found so far is the noise. It pretty 'fanny' when on bright mode. I don't think it's any different to the HD67, but I've got it in my head now - I need to experiment with the different settings.

Overall it seems a great buy and fantastic value for money.

I'm thinking of buying a projector.

How far does the unit have to be from the screen? The room I was thinking of putting it in isn't massive, just a medium sized bedroom.

Cheers,

Sounds good!..... Mines on its way now, hopefully here for weekend

Think you can use ok In a medium room size MM..

I'm going to do some 3D glasses research the optoma ones are 75 squid each!!
Hopefully there are some others that'll do as good a job..

MMM - use something like this. http://www.projectorcentral.com/Optoma-HD33-projec... I used the HD33 as that's what I have.

Distance from the screen to the lens will give you the screen sizes supported.

I've got the zd201 or something (DLP Link) and they are plenty good enough, think I paid £60. Doubt I'll go for the RF system.

Projector is fairly good, pleased with it.

Got it, set it up, few issues with sound, but that was my system nothing to do with projector obviously, few trips to maplins for some digital optical cables and 42 quid later........ sorted

Got to say I love it! Picture quality is awesome ... But then again my previous one was an old one, fan noise doesn't bother me quieter than my Sony .

Haven't done any 3d yet as I need the glasses.... Spent enough on this and cables, need a couple more to tidy my set up a little more, and a projector stand as well.

But i recommend it for money, had it playing sky tv , Apple TV and black ops on ps3 all great.

I have recently purchased a HD33 as well. Have you tried the 3D bit out yet ?
I also have a 3d tv but find it more of a gimmick...

The only issue I have with the HD33 is how long it takes to get the initial signal, do you find the same thing ?

Yes, mine takes a while to get a signal and sometimes to re-acquire a signal.
It seems to do 3D quite well but I'm not a fan so probably won't bother in the future.
