panasonic G30 streaming problems.

iv finaly got round to getting my panasonic G30 tv networked via a tp-link router using a network cable. its streaming films and photos off my win8 laptop without any issue but it wont play music for some reason.
i know that the tv can play these tunes off a usb stick or external hd but when network streaming music it comes up like its going to play and even shows the track length but will not play.
i know its not the router speed as it streams high definition video perfectly, its just music tracks it doesnt like.
iv tried mp3 of different bitrates but none of them will play.
anyone got any ideas?
