Will a 46" flat screen tv fit in th back of a Polo hatch?

Want to buy a Samsung 46" LED smart TV from Costco, but wondering if anybody has successfully used a small hatchback car to transport such a thing - ie is it likely to fit?

Costco staff refused to go and measure the box size for me, and I can't find dimensions on line.

Anybody done this?
