Has anyone used an LG smart TV? I'm after something that can play netflix etc and record to usb and this looks good http://www.johnlewis.com/lg-39ln575v-led-hd-1080p-... just after some opinions from owners before I order it (got them to price match it so it's £100 less than the link)

Cheers

I've got one, a 42LM670T. Didn't know I could record to USB on it. I can play stuff from USB. How do I record to USB?

Yep, got the 46lm620 here, bought less for the smart features (sky box is immense with its offer8ing) and more for its passive 3d.

I can see the flicker of the active ones.

Great telly, happy to recommend.

I'm not sure if you can there's quite a few different models.

Thanks guys, I've got a 22" lg from about 6 years ago and the viewing angle isn't great so I'm gonna have a look at this one in store.

I've also got this TV and it's really good. It's a nice looking TV too.

from what I have read some markets have it and some don't. Also the digging I have done seems to state that its not TV set dependant but you need the right remote for the recording via USB and the UK market doesn't get them. However, from looking at by android phone app it looks like it might be in there. maybe.

The TV guide has the record button greyed out, I'm gonna plug in a hard drive tonight and try it out.
Edit: and the richer sounds site says you can record to USB

Are these soundbar things any good or are they just fashionable at the moment? Wouldn't you always be better off with a proper surround sound system with individual speakers throughout the room?

surprisingly its actually really good! we weren't all that impressed with it in the store but we gave it a shot and in my opinion its better than normal surround!(it bounces the soundwaves around the room to create the 3D surround effect, rather than a speaker blaring in your ear) That's the LG one anyway, don't know what others are like.

I'm having problems with Youtube on my LG Smart TV - it keeps running out of memory and closing the browser. Is this happening to anybody else?

I decided to try the YouTube app that came with the TV instead and tried signing in. I can't get signed in because it keeps telling me to go to youtube.com/activate to enter the code on the TV screen. I close off the app, go to my PC to enter the code, allow the authorisation and get the message "Success! You've authorised YouTube TV. Please return to your device to continue." I return to the TV, load up the app and the same fking message appears again with another code.

Does anybody know what's wrong or how I get around this?

you can record but first you have to get the television to format the hard drive (you cant use it on a computer and on the tv)
