So, as part of a lounge refurb I splashed out on new TV, new Blu-ray, and was hoping to integrate the TV audio into my trusty old separates system - NAD320 amp and Tannoy M3 speakers. However.... TV and bluray both lack analogue output, and amp won't accept digital. Any recommendations for an affordable DAC? (Or alternative solutions). Richer sounds have one for £40, don't really want to pay more than £100, as I'm then thinking about fitting a soundbar into the system somewhere.......

Should be ok. The Arcam would be my personal choice but it is out of your price range. If you need more than one input it could be problematic though.

I've not looked on the RS website but I'd guess it's the little square CYP one? Absolutely perfect for the job.I doubt you'd hear anything different from a TV using the considerably more expensive Arcam TBH.

I'd also suggest that TV and Films through a decent stereo is going to at least as good as a soundbar if not better.

Analogue audio should be available via the scart socket or the headphone socket on most TVs

I used the CYP one for my similar set up (as recommended on here) as it does the job just great.

Cheap, small and effective! smile
