It's got to be small - ideally small enough to fit hand luggage though not essential. I don't mind if it uses the plug at the bottom or the 3.5mm headphone plug. Can be 1 or 2 speaker, doesn't have to have massive output, just enough to provide some background sound in hotel rooms etc.

Can you believe some hotels still don't have a clock/radio that has a dock on it?

To answer my own question, picked This cheap little jobbie up today, seems to do just the job.

I bought an iFlute from Amazon - it's been a great little portable speaker and I've only ever run it on internal batteries(lasts about a week).
