From what I understand you can achieve a 5.1 setup with the Playbar, 2x Play3s and the Sub.

Anyone have this setup? Comments? Is it any good.

I have no Sonos gear at all and am trying to find a decent venue to listen to it all.

check your pockets for deepness and spare cash.

You will need all the pennies you can get.

Far better investing in a proper system for less money and more performance.

And add a zone player for the Sonos side of things. Much better sound, functionality and still all the streaming heaven that Sonos gives you.

Sorry, kids were playing up!

To put a figure to all of this, to do a complete SONOS surround sound system with only a TV input and Music you need around £1600!

No worries.

I currently have a KEF KIT100 which just has 2 speakers and crafty flat panels to emulate surround sound.

I have a real stumbling block with getting these cinema systems to pass the 'wife aesthetics' test, we're moving to a new house and I feel the KEF is just going to be too ugly with the considerable cables involved that I currently have hidden but will not be able to hide in the new house.

The £1600 or so for the Sonos setup did not seem too bad to me, the KEF was about £1200 back in the day.

I appreciate there is an element to premium pricing for the Sonos gear, but the wirelessness attracts me.

Personally I would spend £1400 on better sounding kit, and the balance on getting a spark or av installer to hide the cables

Good call, and don't forget while wireless each component is still going to need a power cable to work.

Is it a 'new' new home?

If so you should be able to talk to the builder and get some cables thrown in to critical points for your WAF (wife acceptance factor)

Sadly not, only new to us.

So what would the panel suggest if not Sonos?

If your concern is more about looks and hiding cables, then get someone round to look at the cable routes first.

Then worry about the hardware!

There are a few of us dealers on here, so where are you and someone might be able to pay you a visit!
