Best 50" LED TV for Living Room
Discussion
(Meant Best LED)
Ive seen a few different topics on this but no specific requirements that some folks have listed. I am somewhat lost on all the specs and types available. I do like the Panasonic Viera's due to seeing them in person, this tv will be bought online based on your recommendations.
I am looking to buy immediately due to new house move and here are my requirements.
50" LED (chose LED due to brighter picture) not trying to debate plasma
Primary usage is for Sky TV and odd Blue Ray Movie
Like having Smart options for ease of use and wifi
Budget is 1k
Like the idea of higher frame rate ie 600hz +
Any help is appreciated as I will be clicking on the checkout button in the next 48 hours.
Thanks
HSB

I just switched from a Panny Plasma to a 47 inch Panny LED, can't recall the product code but it was top end. Not overly happy with the picture, it is almost so sharp that it looks fake. Sports in HD are fine but programs such as Banshee and Las Vegas just look weird.
Sounds like a LCD. They are not that good, apparently. Lostprophet said:

Plasma + blacks, contrast, colour
+ good picture regardless of room lighting
- glass too reflective
- heats room up (not good in summer)
- - needs dark room for best results
LED + matt screen
+runs cooler
- works well in well lit room
