Just bought a motorhome, so I'm looking for an AV setup that'll work off it's own batteries or the 12v onboard electrics, as well as from a mains hookup.

We've bought a cheap TV/DVD combi and an inverter. Looking for an iPod dock with radio and aux input (for the telly) that'll work from mains or internal battery.
Only for occasional use, so don't need anything fancy - just needs to sound better than the telly speakers!

Thanks for the reply. Saw those when I was looking, but some poor reviews and silly prices on eBay put me off. Since I can't find anything else that will do the job, I will have another look at them.

I'd actually suggest installing a car stereo and speakers if you've got suitable locations to put them.

Did the same for my mate in his motorhome. I wired it in so its switchable to be powered either by the main van battery or by the auxiliary leisure battery. Additionally because the van has a built in leisure battery charger when on hookup its effectively mains powered as well.

No radio but 3.5mm input and reasonable sound quality.
<edit> Just noticed URL - boom bar - hardly! hehe </edit>

That's a good idea - car head units are pretty cheap, and I need to replace the one in the dash anyway, as it's a cassette player.
I'll look into getting a new head unit for the dash (with USB and aux, plus a remote), and adding a second pair of speakers in the lounge. Probably add a relay so that it draws power from the leisure battery (via the zig unit) when the ignition is off.

Found a Philips car stereo for £40 at Halfords - DAB, CD, USB, aux. Proper bargain, so I got a second one to fit in the dash
