Sorry for another post looking for help.
Currently I have a Samsung LED TV
Samsung Home Cinema 5.1
Sky HD box
Sony PS3.

Sky connected to Tv by HDMI, home cinema to TV by HDMI, PS3 to TV by HDMI, and PS3 to home cinema by optical cable.

This gives me surround sound for movies and when playing PS3, however when watching Sky I only have sound thru the puny built in tv speakers, how do I go about getting surround sound from the Sky, how should I connect it all?

Thanks, can I just pull the cable from the back of the Ps3 and stick it into the Sky box instead?
Will I need to change settings on the sky box or receiver or anything?

Well you could, but for the sake of buying a couple of extra cables its not worth the hassle of swapping them each time you need to use the PS3.

No need to change settings other than enable RF2 as for you 2nd tv.

That should be fine.

The only options for Optical Audio on the SkyHD box are 'NORMAL' or 'DOLBY D' - best to set to 'DOLBY D'.

On the Sky remote: Services > Settings > Sound > Digital Audio Output <DOLBY D>

Assuming the Samsung Home Cinema device has more than one optical input..

Sky appears to have sussed out how to enable 5.1 over their hdmi output, and is updating the software by over-the-air updates. Might depend on which model of Sky HD box you have.

Just the one HDMI socket which I have hooked up to the tv, may invest in a proper home cinema amp soon.

I have a new HD/3D box, hooked it up to the amp with the Optical last night, works a treat, roll on the Moto Gp smile
