I have been offered a 'free Sky on demand connector (worth £21.95) for free.' It 'wirelessly connects your Sky+HD box to your broadband router.@

So what's the catch? I currently do no have my Sky+ box connected to my router - could not see the point - but can still access on demand.

So why this gubbins?

It works a bit like a wireless card, connects to your wifi so you can use the on demand features through your sky box. If you have a wired connection available you can use that instead, and enjoy a better connection speed too.

There's no catch and I've found it to be really useful. Catch up and box sets have been great.

They've put the price up as it was £10 when I bought ours.

Thanks for that. So no catch then? Remarkable.

I've just ordered it and received a 3-month delivery promise.

They're getting rid of stock as boxes with integrated wifi are launching soon.

Definitely get it, the on demand content is excellent.

The frequent drop outs that need a box restart are not quite as good though....

I did get very frequent dropouts, at the same time the connectivity looked good between the box and the, well box. Quite frustrating to have to keep recycling the power.

Hasn't happened for weeks now, guess what I'll be doing when I go home now I've said that!

We've been offered this box as well. However we recently bought a 2TB Sky Box and I believe it has the Wireless capability built in. Is that the case and does that mean I don't need the 'free' box?

If your box has wireless connectivity then no, but still take it if it's for free. Then if you connect an older box up elsewhere you can get the on demand up.

if your box has wifi built in then it will have a 'WPD' button on the front. If it's a 2TB box then i can almost guarantee it won't be a Wifi-enabled box.
