Hi,

I wonder if anyone can help, does anyone know of a solicitor in the Poole / Bournemouth area which deals with these? I've tried about a dozen and none of them have heard of it! It's a certificate which I sign to confirm that I have no legal interest in the wife's house (required by her mortgage company), counter-signed by the solicitor to say that I understand what I'm signing and there's been no undue influence.

Any suggestions gratefully received!

Etridge was a case (against RBS I think) which was all about a wife who claimed she didnt realised what she was signing when her husband remortgaged their property, or something like that. You'll probably have more success just saying that the bank want confirmation that you have no beneficial interest in the property and confirmation that you have taken legal advice. if the bank want that "certificate" to take a particular form then the bank's lawyers should provide that form to you.

Thanks for the suggestion, that seems like a good way of going about it. I've already got the certificate from the mortgage company, they just need to witness me signing it and fill in their bit.
