Bought 55" Panasonic LED TV from Currys in January. Up to now, I have been delighted with it. Pretty much the perfect set for us and lovely vibrant picture.

We were away for 5 days last week so TV had a rest. It was switched off, though remained plugged into the mains. We turned it on on Friday night to see a bright green spot on the picture which was noticeable close up and even up to 12-15 feet away. Closer inspection it looked like a cluster of 3 or 4 lazy pixels.

I spoke with Curry's 'Know How' team on Saturday morning who said that charge may have built up in the screen, and to pull the plug on it while it was switched on. I did this a couple of times, and though it did not seem to make an immediate difference, the green spot did diminish slightly. They have arranged to pick the TV up and send to their repair place.

Since then, the green spot seems to have turned into a dead single pixel - about half way up the screen, and 1/3 out from the edge. I looked at it and took a picture of it using a digital camera on macro setting, so it is clear to me know that it is a single dead pixel.

Where do I stand on this? Are they likely to repair it, or will my set returned 'as is', with additional work shop 'wear and tear' on it?

Well - as long as I receive a brand new replacement for it, I don't mind!

Will be interesting to he's what they say. Manufacturers all have different policy regarding what is acceptable or not. Last I heard Panasonic stated 4 on a 1080 screen before they classed it as a fault
