BT Vision, do you need a goos terrestrial reception?
Discussion
Just moved house and we are now in a valley on Exmoor. Surrounded by trees the sky man says no as there is no line of sight to the satellite so that doesn't work terrestrial tv is a no go and all we have is a very poor village shared system.
My question being does BT vision need a decent terrestrial signal or is it all received via the broadband?
Confused and a little concerned.

Yes you will need a signal for the ordinary channels, the box is basically a freeview box with the ability to stream over channels such as sport and nat geographic etc via the net.
Speak to decent independent aerial/satellite installer, there may be options for you to get a dish or an aerial located elsewhere on your land with line of sight to the satellite or transmitter. The sky guy cant/wont do that as he will only fix to the house in the simplest of ways.
I have mounted plenty of dishes in gardens on poles, even one on an old tree stump! It is very rare not to be able to see the sky from somewhere on your land
Get your local aerial man out BEFORE you sign to BT as they will not be interested if you cannot get a signal, youve signed the contract now try and argue your way out.
