After discovering a few channels missing time for a retune, a process that has always been an utter ball ache due to receiving multiple signal meaning a very tedious manual tune.

Checked for latest firmware, found a new update claiming to allow better processing of areas, guess what? It bloody worked at long last. I've owned it since first released and now it finally does what is required.

Flush with the success of this i decided to try a matching custom firmware.
Installed completely effortlessly, i now have Sky Go!
Can watch recording from my laptop, SD only but still pretty cool.

Most brilliantly of all and a silly omission from Humax, i can now back up schedules.

So there is a use for dark cold Sunday mornings!

Which version do you mean?

I only have one signal in my area so never had that issue. But it is ridiculous that retuning removes your scheduled recordings.

I've just got one to replace my SD humax. Pretty good, but the odd issue (no x64 ffwd, volume control doesn't seem to work, can't get remote to work with my DVD player etc). Also, the much vaunted web streaming features are no better than my TV, very slow, so not a great incentive to use.

So what's the link with Sky Go, does this integrate?

Do all matters relating to Humax Freeview boxes also relate to Humax Freesat boxes, or do they not share much?

No idea smile I usually use http://hummy.tv/forum/ for any issues I have.

I used the info here : http://wiki.hummy.tv/wiki/Firmware_Downloads

Once you have installed the firmware connect via web interface. Under applications there is one for Portal upgrades or something similar.

Once installed when entering the portal you get several menus. One of them is for Sky Go.

Does this mean that my foxsat HDR (on which I can watch iPlayer) can also access Sky Go?

This could be the best news of the day...

I'm just about to check that link out, my best mate has given me his login to watch the ashes and the rugby via my laptop, which has its limitations, so this could very much make my year!

Was that over air? I'll have to have a look. My two work fine apart from the loss of schedule when I update so a backup option would be useful.

Hmm, not great news yet, the version of software (1.03.06) I have in my Humax has not been made open source, so can't have the custom additions yet. Oh well, will have to wait for a bit...

This is for the Freeview HD only. I don't know about the Freesat version.
