1980s pioneer stereo and remote

Hi everyone, i have picked up a Pioneer system. The remote control is definitely working because it changes the volume and switches the system off, but it wont skip the cd track. Is there a trick to it?

I realise this is quite obscure but thought id ask anyway. I have looked in the operating manual and theres no info.

The remote is a CU-RC002. The cd player is a pd-z81m.

Never mind sorted. It required a 3.5mm cable between the cd player and amp (control in control out).
