Currently got a 37" Panasonic plasma that has lasted us well, but moving house means it's a bit small on the wall now.

Budget is only £500 as I need to get a soundbar and other housey stuff still.

I guess I'm looking mid 40" to 50", no need for 3d or any "smart" features. I just want the best picture quality for my budget in as elegant a frame as possible.

RS have this at the moment for £469? http://www.richersounds.com/product/tv---all/panas...

Is it any good though? Reviews seem a bit thin on the ground.

I bought this yesterday:

Didn't want 3D, max size 40.

This one has DLNA, and will also record to USB stick, wifi without dongle.
Very pleased with it after one evening's playing!

Exactly the same as the one we bought apart from the size. As you say, works off Wi-Fi without dongle, so you can watch I-player in superb quality. Also, the Mrs can use her Samsung phone as a remote control which is quite cool! haven't tried USB recording yet, but hoping it will work from a separate hard disk.
