Freeview TV Aerials
Discussion
Visiting my mum yesterday, the reception on her TV was really bad, with the sound and picture breaking up and some channels had simply vanished.
She's had plumbers in the loft and the first thought was that the aerial had been disturbed so I went up there and had a look. The co-ax was correctly connected but the aerial was held in place with two pieces of string tie-ing it to the rafters so there's no real scope for movement. (And no, it wasn't me who fitted it!)
Anyway, I went out and bought a new aerial and mounted it properly. Did my best to get it aligned with the few external aerials visible in the area, but the signal didn't get any better and most of the channels are unwatchable.
She lives alone and the TV keeps her company so I want to get it working asap. Any ideas before I send in a professional?
