Speaker bases -thoughts please

Currently going through the dilemma of new av system. Being a complete novice I don't know much about the options. Size of room was looking at a basic system eg sony bdve590 to match sony tv. Also looked at some amps and speakers (richer sounds) then I was introduced to these two speaker bases and quite like as may suit the room size. However can't find many reviews online so anyone have any thoughts?
