Hi Guys
A while ago I bought a set of Bose acoustimass 6 speakers along with a av amp with built in dvd player.
All fine and dandy but.... now the dvd side of things are playing up, the films hang, stop and the dvd will not eject. also for no reason the volume will occasionally just keep going up and the only way to stop it is to turn off the player!

So the time has come for a up grade.
Looked at the bose system and to be honest they were just too much money so started looking else where and have come up with this:
Pioneer vsx 923 av receiver. along with a pioneer BDP450 blue ray player.
the intentions would be to keep the bose speakers.

This is coming in at under £600.
Is this a good system and is there anything else around that price that would do a better job?

We would use the blue ray player to play films, dvd's and cd's although I am considering getting a dock for the I-pod to run through as well.

Cheers guys
Andy

Should be fine.

My preference is for Yamaha AV amps so it could be worth checking some others out. But Pioneer is pretty solid stuff.

Pioneer AV receivers tend to be a little on the "bright" side, but should be a reasonable match
to the Acoustimass Speakers as they tend to be a little on the "warm" side so they should balance out fine
