I've binned Sky and need to buy Humax Freesat PVR box. I was going to pay extra for the one with built in WiFi, but it occurred to me I might be able to use the Sky WiFi adapter I already have.

So, does anyone know if the Sky Wifi Adapter will work if I plug it into the Ethernet socket on the Humax?

Yes, it should work. AFAIK the Sky adapter is just a generic Ethernet/Wifi bridge. I've certainly used a generic ethernet/WiFi bridge in place of the Sky adapter with no problems...

Thanks. In that case I'll give it a go. Worst case, if it doesn't work I'll buy a couple of homeplugs.

Got the Humax box set up, and plugged in the Sky WiFi thingy but I can't get them to talk. My router and Sky thing both have that button which should pair them but it doesn't seem to work. If I try to do it through the settings in the Humax it just say "no connection found". Any ideas?

ETA: problem sort of solved, sort of. The trouble was that I've had a new router which I'd never connected to the sky wifi adapter to. The Humax box seemingly can't configure the sky wifi adapter. So, I reconnected the Sky HD box and used it to configure the Sky wifi adapter so it connected to the new router. Hey presto, re-attached it to the Humax and all is well. The only problem will be if the wifi adapter ever loses it's settings, or I get a new router, I won't be able to set it up without a Sky receiver.
