Sony Blu ray player problem

Hi Guys,
Hoping for a bit of help and/or constructive advice please.
SWMBO has recently started to watch my box set of Game of Thrones season 1. When we started to watch it a week or so ago, I needed to perform a software upgrade, after which everything was fine. Finished watching episode 6 yesterday, so started to watch ep 7 tonight. End of ep 6 credits worked OK, but then had to change to next disc and here is where the problem starts. When the disc was inserted, the player reads the disc but only identifies it as BD-ROM, not GoT. Disc does not play, so I check for software upgrade and it says already upgraded. Get the disc out and try the other discs and it says the same BD-ROM and refuses to play the disc. Tried it with a random Blu-ray we had near the tv and it worked no problem, tried again with a GoT disc that had previously worked and still nothing.
I am hoping that I am doing something wrong and that someone can point me in the right direction.
