I have a Optoma HD33 with a couple of pairs of RF glasses and these work very well, but at around £80 per pair, the glasses are way too expensive.

Are the DLP glasses as good as I can get 4 pairs for the price of 1 RF set.

I think you and they are mixing your technologies up.

IR and RF are the two technology's used with 3d projectors to sync the glasses with the image

DLP is the type of chip/projection format used in projectors.

No comment off the glasses I am afraid.

Merry Christmas chap,

I found the DLP link to be better when I was using my HD33. You'll find the blacks look distinctly red without the specs on, but the lenses sort that out. When I say better, I just found the 3D experience to be more pronounced. RF has a more natural look to it, but for some reason had less 'wow' factor. It's very subjective though. Crosstalk is non existent on the HD33 anyway, but the one advantage RF does have is it's a smidge brighter.

As noted, the DLP glasses are a lot cheaper, and I really couldn't get on with the Monster joystick control for the RF system.

Since the HD33 first got released, I believe the DLP specs have improved in terms of lens size (my ZD201's were a bit to thin IMO).

Hope that helps a bit smile

Done some digging and I stand corrected.

DLP link seems to be a a tech used to control glasses through the DLP projector chip.

Sorry.
