I have a pioneer av reciever/ amp and my sister got me a pair of sony wireless headphones for Christmas.

The headphones transmitter has a 3 5mm jack and my amp has a 6.3/6.5 mm female. I've bought an adapter from maplins today and tried them and I'm only getting sound on the left side. If I turn the volume to max I can hear the right side crackling in and out of action but at normal listening volume the right side just hums.

I can plug the headphones transmitter direct to the tv without the adapter and they work fine. So I know the headphones are good.

I've made sure the adpator is pushed in properly and the headphone cable is plugged in proper and all are snugly fitted.

What's going wrong?

Pull it out of the headphone socket a tiny bit and it'll likely start working. I remember having this and quickly took it back.

I've tried pulling both plugs out a bit and in a bit but no joy.

I've got the receipt so will take it back and swap it for another one.
