Infuriating Panasonic Blu Ray

A word of warning so no one else makes the same mistake as I... during renovations we've had no aerial feeds so have been relying on IPTV. In the process I bought an end-of-line Panasonic P55VT50 for the kitchen which is a cracking telly and moreover has BBC iPlayer / News / Sport and Eurosport Player on it, all of which have taken a hammering.
So just before Christmas when we came to set up the lounge once more, out came the Kuro, and I bought a 2013 Panasonic DMP-BDT230EB to replace my older Pioneer, thinking it'd serve very well as a nice shiny new BluRay player and also would have the BBC and Eurosport feeds on it so I can watch them on the Kuro or projector.
Silly me.

Oh no, the licensing agreements have clearly changed and the Panasonic 2013 range have next to nothing on them - still iPlayer, but no BBC Sport or News, and moreover, no Eurosport player.
Utterly infuriating. Chalk one up for not doing my research beforehand and unwisely assuming a newer model would have all the staples plus a few extra, rather than all the "extra" and none of the staples. Grrrrr.
