Can anyone suggest a good PVR for the £150-£200 price bracket.

Something that can record my favourite shows when I miss them.

Ideally able to connect to Netflix, love film, iplayer etc
Play USB based media.
Connect to shared network drives.
Although those are secondary - I have can Xbox that does it.

I can't get sky, cable etc
So it just needs to be a stand alone box.

The in-laws have one of the Humax YouView boxes and that seems pretty good. It's a bit over your budget though and doesn't do Netflix AFAIK.

The Fox HDR-T2 is now available at £139/£159 from Humaxdirect.co.uk when they have stock Definetley worth the money although the On line services are different to Netflix and are pretty limited. The DTR-1000 is also available for £149 with a shed load more online.

The YouView box does have access to Sky Movies.

If your ISP is BT or TalkTalk (and coming to PlusNet soon) they supply a YouView box as part of their TV package.

The above are all good - but if you want a really cheap solution get a talktalk hauwei box (320 gb) off ebay for circa £50-£70. good interface with the ability to use net players and though I am not sure about networked drives (and USB wont work) I did this and it works a treat. No subscription is necessary and it works like a charm on my crappy aerial to give far more channels than my (half decent) tv could detect and the HD is flawless....
But I agree there are some better if you wish to part with the cash....
When I was looking the Humax boxes were consistent winners.

I have taken a suggestion from above and gone with the BT subscription.

£35 one off fee, then £5 a month for 18 months.
I get a free box, a few extra channels and it works out cheaper than any of the boxes new.

It's a Humax made Youview box now, is it not?

It is, unless you want BT Sport 1 and BT Sport 2 channels then you get a Vision+ box (well that is according to the BT website).

Just bought a 2nd hand talktalk box which I'm hoping will do the trick. £66 inc. delivery. Fingers crossed it works.
