Sonos drop outs
Discussion
Howdy,
I've had Sonos in my house for about 2 years now and love it. Right up until I can't connect to it via iPad/Phone at which point it drives me nana's !!
So far I've followed all of the following advice step by step:
Firmware updated.
BT HH3 router forced down to Wireless G
Forced WIFI from WPA2 down to WPA
Static Routes for the Sonos devices (address reservation on the HH3)
I have 3 sonos devices, all hardwired into a switch, switch connects to HH3 router.
Each time I tried a step above it would resolve the issue and I could gain access via i-Device again (pushing the "find me" button on the SONOS didn't result in it being found until I had completed the next step in line above). The PC (which is wired) has always worked.
within a few days/weeks the i-Device wouldn't be able to find SONOS again and I would progress onto the next step..
Fast forward to today.....
Same again, no connection from my i-Phone. This time I went into my phone's WIFI settings and hit "renew lease" - bingo, connection to SONOS straight away.
Any sane reason why this might be? and should I go for static routes (address reservation) for all my i-Devices as a prudent move?
Cheers
Jim

have you tried their support, ive heard they are very helpful
If the number is in the back of the manual, then no of course not - haven't read that either :-)I am of course a true PH'er.....bash my own head against a wall for monthns, then ask here and when all else fails...RTFM :-)
Have you tried a different wifi channel on the sonos, sometimes they sit in congested channel and can not be found.
I know it sounds odd as you are not using the wifi of the sonos system, but it doesn't actually switch it off.
Also I have known for sonos to get swamped with both wifi and wired signal, you could try disconnecting the sonos off its wired connections and see if that improves things.
