New TV only has 1 SCART. I need 2. Options please?

I have just bought a new tele which only has 1 SCART socket but indeed 2, one for my sky box and another for my DVD home cinema. The tele has the 5 part component input as well as 3 HDMI slots. Should I buy a SCART to component or HDMI converter.

I'd like the TV to switch to the active feed in and also to send audio to the DVD home cinema.

Doesn't your DVD player have component or HDMI out as well as SCART?

As said get an HD box.

Or, maybe the component input can also take a composite video input, if so then get a scart adaptor for the Skybox.

Plug the DVD into the 2nd scart on the sky box, it will pass through when the box is in standby.

Sky+HD boxes now only have a single SCART output.

If it was an HD box surely the OP would just be using HDMI.

Yes, my Sky+ box is a relic and so uses SCART connections. However, plugging the DVD into the box works- another PH success story!

However, no mater how the DVD is connected, the sound and video are slightly out of sync. Any ideas?

The TV could be introducing a slight delay due to any processing it's doing on the picture.

Try turning off any fancy processing or advanced nonsense in the settings of your TV, this stuff can inttoduce delays otr make them ev3n longer.

If the TV has a games mode in the menu, give that a try.

You may find your DVD has a setting for audio delay to compensate for this exact issue.

I suppose it's because the DVD player is a home cinema system so plays the sound at source. The TV must then change the analogue video signal to a picture, incurring a slight but noticeable lag.

I was amazed at how good the DVD picture was on the tele but the syn issue is too noticeable so it looks like I need a sound bar and blue ray player as well as a new Sky box!

If I get a Samsung sound bar, will it work off the TV remote or will there need to be another remote control?
