These arrived today, which will drive my new 9.1 system with some in wall Kef speakers on the way to provide the height speakers for my current 7.1 Kef system in my dedicated Projection cinema room. Looking forward to starting the install this afternoon

I have that Blu-Ray player (1713?). It is very good.

What 9.1 material will you be playing? I still don't find that much 7.1 stuff around.

Its, not a 1713, its a DBT 3313 and the AVR is the top of the range 4520

I saw that the '4250s have dropped to around £1100 mark recently, typically just after I bought a 'stop gap' amp myself. frown

What 9.1 will you be using, as in front wides or front heights? I can't fit wides in my room so I tried front heights when I got my new amp but didn't think that the heights were that noticeable, so I've reverted to 'just' 7.2 for now.

I wouldn't worry about there not being 'real' 9.1 soundtracks as I've usually found the amp's processing (for 7.1 from 5.1) to work very well in the past.

I am going with front heights. The pelmet in which my screen hides when its up will provide an ideal location for a couple of KEF in-wall speakers above and to the right of my main pair of speakers. It should make for a subtle installation

Yes, subtle is good: I've changed over to on wall MK MP150 LCR and in the process of building 2 x 15" subs, one will look like an Oak side table the other concealed behind an existing AV unit. I wanted all my AV gear hidden/as discrete as possible like you.

Since my power amp packed up I've had to manage without the front heights and haven't really missed them, so I think I prefer not having those speakers on show ('titanium' finish MK K15 that I tested them with), plus it saves me buying some in wall MK IW85/95 speakers to fit into my pelmet as you're planing.

Just make sure you compare running with and without heights to see if it's worth the hassle of hiding the cables. wink I found front wide much better, but nowhere to put them that won't look ugly/silly, then I got the tripole MK S150T side surround speakers and find that they give a kind of 'phantom wide' effect anyway, so a good/discrete (if expensive) solution to my problem.

I checked mine yesterday and it is a 3313! My processor is a lowly 7.1 device, an Arcam AV888.
