I'd be really grateful for some advice for today's Luddite.

We have an old TEAC multi unit hi-fi (including MD player which was money well spent....) which historically has been connected to a set of KEF Q15 speakers. A combination of the passage of time (about 20 years I guess), various house moves and a marauding toddler have resulted in the audio input jack sockets (I think I've described that right) at the back of the speakers snapping such that one speaker no longer works. It's been a pretty easy thing to remove the back of the speaker and disconnect the broken sockets so it should be a fairly easy fix. But where do I find replacements? My google efforts just turn up lots of articles on fixing iPods, PCs etc. Would Maplin have this sort of stuf as that's the only place I can think of in deepest East Sussex that might be open on a Sunday afternoon!

I am sure you can search the whole Maplins catalogue online.

Christ, you're a genius. Now why didn't I think of that.

But let's just say, hypothetically, I've already done that but the fact that I'm not exactly sure how to describe the part means that a catalogue search is next to useless and that I'd like to show the broken part to someone to say "do you have one of those?" Is the 30 mile round trip to Maplin, which the YTS chap I spoke to at the shop suggested, worth a punt?
