Ipod Docking Station Advice

Right so I would like some help/advice on purchasing a docking station to play my Ipod through.
I don't want to spend loads, its only for when I wanna sit and chill in my room etc I'm not an amateur dj etc
Preferably something I can place on my cabinet so id like it quite small and to have a fairly decent clear sound too it. Is there certain specs I should be looking out for?

Depending on your budget & leaving the really cheap tat & the ubiquitous but excellent, benchmark Zeppelin aside ( http://www.whathifi.com/review/bw-zeppelin-air ), if you're not bothered about AirPlay then there's some good bargains to be had - the non-airplay version of the NAD VISO 1 for example ( http://nadelectronics.com/products/made-for-ipod/V... ), now heavily discounted & under £200, sounds great, as does the JBL OnBeat Xtreme which is also now to be had for well under £200. Non Airplay models all seem to be heavily discounted or reduced now.
If you want to go cheaper still, there's the Logitech UE Air Speaker (originally £300) which you can now get for under £100, sounds good (& also has AirPlay as a bonus).
Cheaper still (& portable with a rechargeable battery) is the Logitech S715i (£50ish) & it still sounds way better & 'bigger' than it has any right to.

It's obviously all down to personal preference, & you need to hear as many as you can to make up your own mind. I don't particularly rate the Bose or B&O docks -I think the Bose - while once the benchmark - has long since been outclassed while the B&O is overpriced & outperformed sonically by docks half the price. Don't take my word for it though.
I can at least offer a vaguely informed owner's perspective owning various docks- from the Logitech S715i and the Logitech UE Air mentioned (& being very happy with them), a recently acquired Marantz Consolette ( http://www.wired.co.uk/reviews/gadgets/2013-10/mar... ) - which I settled on recently after much auditioning of most of the current crop of mid/higher end docks including those mentioned above and a Krell KID ( http://hometheaterreview.com/krell-kid-ipod-dock-r... ) which I've had for a few years now & is probably still the iPod dock against which all others should be judged!
I have to say my personal favourite is still the little Logitech S715i - fantastic value & sound for so little money, along with the fact it's got a battery & is small enough that you can pack it away and take it on holiday
