new tv time

Hi,

green line appeared on our telly,

we have a 37" panasonic viera plasma, its been very good never off etc

im not bothered about 3d, im looking for something 45-50" this tme as the lounge is big enough, a smart one, pref from john lewis because of the 5 year guarentee.

one thing i cant seem to find out is if they have a pc monitor in slot so we can watch things off the pc.

also if these smart tvs have internet, can you just go onto wiziwig??

A lot of PCs have HDMI output, those that don't usually have DVI, and there are simple converters from DVI to HDMI. The latest TVs don't appear to have the old d-sub VGA connectors though.

They have some technology in where you can send the pc picture to it over IP, just cant remember what the feature is called, just connect your laptop to wireless, or preferably an ethernet cable, find the tv on the network and send it over or if possible just browse to it via the inbuilt browser.

Dont bother with the other Smart TV's the Samsung implementation seems to be the best regarded, the Toshiba one we have is useless, no Netflix, whats that about.
