pmc db1m or similar
Discussion
I've owned various PMC based home cinema set ups myself over the years: I started with an allo DB1+ front three, then found a pair of TB2+ fronts which I mixed with the DB1+ centre. The later didn't work so well as they weren't such a good match and it sounded like three speakers rather than a front sound stsge. Eventually a TB2+ centre turned up so I swapped out the DB1+ centre and it was much better again with fully matching LCR.
I've since progressed to an all MK Sound set up of the 150 series range. Again, due to perfectly matching LCR (and surrounds now) it doesn't sound like separate speakers, just an enveloping sound stage. While I waited to save up for the last centre speaker I ran a phantom centre, which is what I really recommend you carry on doing until you can find a matching centre for your FB1.
Anything else is going to spoil your set up and don't forget that the centre handles the bulk of the sound in films, so any compromise there is going to compromise the whole sound.
I've seen DB1 appear on AVforums classifieds and on eBay, so it's just a matter of time and patience. I sold my DB1+ centre for under £200 IIRC if that's any guide. I think I got about £175 for my TB2+ centre earlier this year.
