Our Sky+ HD box has been playing up recently. It originally wouldn't come out of standby but a full system restore resolved this, it can now take several minutes to fire up after being off over night. Is anyone else finding this?

Last night it wouldn't respond to any commands either via the remote or controls on the box, though this was sorted after two phone calls to Sky.

Getting stuck in standby is usually a power supply problem; they're prone to failure and uprated replacements are cheap if you're not under warranty.

I'm still under warranty but sky just go through a reset every time I phone them. First guy I phoned last night put me on hold for ”two minutes" as soon as I told him the issues and I never heard from him again.

I have the old box in the attic which I may put into service of it continues.

Try a planner rebuild. Press services, then 0, 0-1-select. Left arrow twice to sky rebuild and select twice. This won't delete your recordings but will interrupt anything currently recording.

Thanks Mischief but an engineer is coming out on Thursday so I'm m going to leave it as it is for now.

Usually the hard drive failing, I popped a 2TB one in my old pace the other day and now nearly as quick as the latest 2TB one from Sky in the other room.
