Tempted to go for a cantilever wall mount for the living room and ditch the TV stand. Any nice solutions to keep the extra stuff neat? Have a freesat box, a slim dvd player, and possibly ps4 soon.. Plus cabling etc
Was thinking of a single shelf but would still leave several wires pls the power gang show

If your wall is stud/dry lined, you can put all wiring in wall. If its masonry, the best solution I have seen is to build a false stud wall panel in front & mount everything to it with cables etc hidden behind. I have yet to see a 100% solution where all wiring is hidden & the setup is reasonably future proof.

I decided to go false wall with IKEA units to house the gear with glass doors. I left the units backless to make wiring easy.

The advantage for me with the false wall is that if in the future I remove it, i only need to fill the screw holes, and paint the wall. No major issues.

Some pics from another thread in Home Cinema and Hi-Fi on wall mounted TV, pasted here:

I put together my setup based on ideas from AV-forums threads. My lounge is a well used space, and with a growing family, that is not going to give up anytime soon. As such, its not a dedicated home cinema room, but that did not put me off. In fact, having a super tidy install helped to prevent kids from prodding, poking and messing with things.

Here are some quick pics:

Just about make out the rears in this pic:

A poor shot of the whole setup:

Setup consists of a floating wall that allows me to hide some cables, and lots of power sockets hidden behind the units. I had the speaker cables for the rear speakers put in before the walls were plastered. Setup runs 5.1, Denon 3312 Amp, B&W 683 fronts, 685 rears, HTM 61 centre, ASW610XP sub, Samsung LED TV. The false wall has rope light round it for a bit of ambient light at night.
