After a friend made me an offer I couldn't refuse to sell me his vinyl collection, I now have 200 albums and 120 ish singles. From online reviews I've bought a Pro-Ject Essential 2 turntable and matching phono stage, but now really need to clean the LPs before playing them wrecks the stylus.

What's recommended kit for such a task? Mostly it's just dust, but some are more dirty than that. Given that the collection includes early Iron Maiden and a huge pile of Nazareth sound quality isn't essential, but it would be nice to get the best out of things like the original gatefold Led Zep albums.

how much do you want to spend?

you can get them professionally done on a Moth or similar - can get expensive
buy a second hand Moth cleaning machine and flog it when done - depends on the buy sell difference
Spin Clean record Washer - seems to get reasonable results and not a huge outlay
record cleaning 'brush' - cheap and simple but not as good as the above

That's over £100 more than my turntable cost!
