to put it simply, i have a multiple speaker/amp setup for cd and turntable use. all sources run through a multi channel mixer which splits signals to seperate amplifiers.

i want to be able to filter out low frequencys for the signal to one amplifier only. so a device that fits between mixer and power amp to filter the signal to amp to remove low frequencies of maybe 100hz and lower. (ish)

the reason being, as the volume is turned up, the floorstanding speakers, mids and sub handle the low end perfectly, and make the monitor bass drivers redundant. at high volumes the monitor bass drivers start to fart, and so want to remove that low signal to the monitors so the high volume quality is not effected.

just after a simple solution rather than full graphic eq, or large mix desk etc. purely after a low freq filter thats nice and compact and simple.

any ideas welcome

thanks

One of these http://www.minidsp.com/products/minidsp-in-a-box/m... running this software http://www.minidsp.com/images/documents/Product%20...

This setup would allow high pass to the smaller monitors as well as full 31 band digital graphic for all the speakers in the setup. $115USD or £67.65 at today's exchange rate.

Review here but there are plenty of other reviews online http://www.hifizine.com/2010/09/subwoofer-equaliza...
