Hi,

I'm looking for two 6"x9" speakers and two 6" speakers for my car. They will be run off my head unit and am looking for some advice on a good set.

Mainly I want them to look subtle and be black. I wouldn't mind a little bit of yellow but mostly black smile

Suggestions?

Thanks.

Depends on your budget, ive bought various over the years and never had a problem.
Something from either jbl or alpine should do, i tend to steer clear of the likes of fli and vibe from halfords as it seems too cheap.
Ive just put a cheap set of jbl components in my daily shed and they are very good.

I've put Infinity speakers in two of my cars in the past and was impressed with them.

Thanks,

Yeah, I'm not keen on the style of any of the halfords speakers.

Another vote for infinities here... Bought some 5 years ago and they are still going strong (and they get some abuse)

A can of black aerosol paint and whichever speakers sound the best to your ears on a demo. It was quite common for me to have to paint the grills of speakers to fit in with a cars interior when I used to install tham for a living.

If you truly want to improve the sound quality, get a relatively cheap 4 channel amp to run the show.

Night and day. Or at least keep it in mind for the future.

Most distortion you will hear isn't the speakers, it's the pitiful amp in head unit struggling
