I have a superb but old Denon Hi Fi seperates system which includes an FM/AM radio tuner which has a digital display inc a clock.

Would it be possible to either replace the gubbins inside or even add a DAB receiver into the same case and keep all the displays and buttons working?

Would be happy to get a PM if someone thinks they can do it.

Thinking laterally and ignoring the actual question...

Could you forego DAB and use internet streaming instead? There's also sorts you could do with building some sort of PC or embedded computer device into a HiFi separates case. Could be something like a raspberry pi and some sort of streaming app or more complicated I've seen full on HTPCs built in HiFi cases.

The other thing you could do is use a raspberry pi but just hide it behind the stereo and control with a smartphone or tablet.

Obviously this sort of solution will give you much more than just streaming radio. You could get, music playback of all your own files, Spotify or equivalent streaming service, ability to act as an Airplay receiver so you can stream all music stuff from an iOS device and much more.

Interesting

all that could be considered - I am looking to retain the looks of the system and hopefully functionality of the display etc
