Hi, I have just moved in to a new property which looks to have a sky/cable connection and our tv has freesat built in so i presume this should plug straight in like it did in our previous property. I have tried searching for freesat, cable, satellite and antenna however see to get no signal from any of them. Any ideas what to do before i call an aerial technician? Thanks

What's on the roof is it an aerial or a dish?

Can you visibly follow the path of the cable from the aerial or dish to the room where your telly is?

Well i live in a flat so therefore cannot see a satellite however there is an inside aerial. No it is clearly routed in to the wall then haven't got a clue where it goes from there. All i know is that all the aerials are connected to the same place.

Is it a modern/new-build flat? If so there could be a distribution system somewhere in your flat, in a cupboard or airing cupboard?

Take some pics of the wall plates and post them. Usually the satellite connections are the screw type 'F' connections, the aerial connections are standard type plug in.

Ask the neighbours how they have connected.

Hi, yes its is a fairly modern conversion and yes there is a distribution in a cupboard. I will take a pic in the morning and post tomorrow, will also ask the neighbours!
