Looking for some blackbout blinds, one window is a bay so cannot connect directly to the window, but want it to be inset inside the aperture to seal out all light.

Also interested in maybe making them motorised - not sure if you then need a complete automation system which is not on the cards right now.

Have some Ikea roller blinds in my tv room as the window is directly opposite the TV so the reflection was terrible.
Pretty cheap and they do different sizes and they can also be cut down to size, ones I have are the total blackout type and are very effective.

Traditionally, automatic / motorised blinds are expensive and need quite a lot of cost to cable for them.

However at a trade show in Feb I saw (and signed up to) an amazing range of battery operated blinds, amazing design and concept.

The batteries are D type cells, they fit into the roller blind tube and are good for up to 5 years!

Can you tell I am impressed with them? Haha

Happy to talk off line or on pm if you want more details.

You can get blackout vertical blinds made to measure online/ebay and they can then be motorised with one of these.
