Do you get what you pay for here as prices vary drastically? Is it worth investing extra in HDBaseT technology compared with cheaper variants?

Also, any recommendations on what to get?

Thanks

What exactly does the HDBaseT do differently?

Plan is to have a central hub of kit underneath the stairs and use HDMI extenders over Cat5e to send Sky/Apple TV to 3 rooms (family room, lounge and bedroom). I have a Logitech Ultimate for control.

The TV in the family room is Panasonic P60ZT65 so I want the best quality here to justify the cost of that television!

Thanks for you help

How many cat5 cables do you have available between the central hub and each tv?

HD base T basically allows the cat5 to be used for other things at the same time

Just one. So, what else other things could it be used for?

Would you mind pricing for me please.

How does this compare with hdanywhere. I have one of these but cant get the IR repeater to play ball with the Sky box. Very frustrating especially seeing as I have twin utp from the lounge to master bedroom especially for this.

I have not used any HD anywhere stuff, but would suspect that the problem probably lies with the placement of the remote emitter on the skybox. Its quite difficult to work out exactly where the receiver is on the box a very bright torch shone on the front may show it up, it may also work better placed a bit further from the skybox. If you want to prove the Hd anywhere stuff works then change the skybox over for a bluray player and see if that works.

I have also seen kit with an IR receiver and an IR blaster which look identical but obviously have different functions.

Most installations that I do i use the coax and a magic eye for sky control, its proven and its reliable, those repeaters are always falling off equipment, using the coax the sky box is hardwired and works irrespective of the HD feed
