How good are Class T amplifiers?
Discussion
I've been thinking of upgrading the sound in my home office.
Currently I have my pc with in built sound card hooked up to a Cambridge a1 amp driving some old Bang and olufsen speakers.
On digging out my old CD player and hooking it up Drew attention to just how bad the pc sounds.
There are plenty of inexpensive USB dacs about, I was looking to get one of these but noticed that there are class t amps with built in dacs available for now much more.
Anyone have any experience how these tiny Amps stack up against 20 year old budget hifi?

I was just going to buy a DAC of some description.
These range from £15 no namers on ebay through to second hand Cambridge DACmagics up to entry studio stuff like Beresford Caiman's etc. Around £50 or so would be great, any better would be overkill for the rest of my system.
I did see some Canadian homebrew job called Dacdestroyer which makes some bold claims and is suitably cheap.

USB out from your PC into one of these http://www.amazon.co.uk/Behringer-UCA222-U-Control... or one of these http://www.amazon.co.uk/FiiO-Taishan-D03K-Digital-...
I've heard the Behringer and have a Fiio myself; both great for the money but if you can stretch your budget then check out the various reviews for one of these http://epiphany-acoustics.co.uk/products-page/dacs...
I should point out that I've not heard the Epiphany E-DAC but have been following its development; the measured specs http://nwavguy.blogspot.co.uk/2012/04/odac-release... are excellent.

I've got a lepai one, it cost £20 + £10 PSU (upgrades 12v 5amp rather than 2amp). Its paired to some missions 731i's and it sounds exceptionally good. go for it with a behringer uca202 job done.
Some of the higer priced ones look a little nicer and there are a few different chips but the 2020 sounds good to me
