I have had the above for a few years now but its always had an intermittent problem that now seems to be permanent.

It's connected via a fibre optic cable to my LG TV. Thesignal to the TV is via 2 HDMI cables, 1 from my sky HD box, the other to my Apple TV box.

The intermittent problem seemed to be if the Sky box was left on pause for an extended period, there would be sound from the sounbar, although the tv's speakers worked fine. I would have to turn the TV off and the sky box onto standby and start again which would resolve matters.

No big deal, but yesterday we had had the radio playing through the Skybox/Tv/soundbar. When we tried to change channel to watch TV, there was no sound output.

I have tried rebooting everything, reset the soundbar to factory settings. There is no sound when trying to play video or music via my Apple TV either, which sort of rules out the Skybox I think.

The soundbar now turns itself off after a few minutes, which is a new 'feature'.

Any suggestions?

Can you download new Firmware and also have you turned off the speakers on the LG TV? Does it have a 'Hotel Mode'....allowing sound only from the sound bar via the optical cable?

Yes, speakers are always on silent on the LG TV. Can't understand whats occurred as it was just a routine change of Sky channel.

No hotel mode on TV. Have just reset it to factory settings,no change. Soundbar will only turn on for 1 second. Lights flash, then off. Looked at the fibre optic - can see red laser light shining as normal.

Think its broken...

Sounds to me that either one of the connectors isn't working properly or the link from the TV to the sounder is causing interference. How old are the components?

Thats what I though initially, but now the soundbar won't switch on except for a 1/2 second flash of lights. You can hear an internal relay switching on and then off.

I think rather than a soundbar its a fubar..

Needs an electrician methinks.
