Hi All,

I have a pair of black Naim Audio Credo speakers from uni. A mate at the time owed me some money for some events work I did and ended up "paying" me with these. I didn't quite appreciate what exactly they were until later in life.

Anyway, they are pretty tatty. No huge scrapes, but the black finish is ever so slightly splitting on the joins. The other biggy is that one tweeter was damaged so a spare was sourced through Maplin (or similar). Its a 4 screw rather than a 3 screw.

They sound and perform very well, but the time ahs come to get rid as I have my eyes on some book shelf speakers that will suit my new living room/house.

My question is, is there a market for "premium" speakers (good pairs sell for £300+ on ebay) in this condition I.e. not original tweeter and a 7/10 overall finish. No clip on fabric covers either.

There's a market for everything on ebay. Trouble with speakers is that they're big and bulky, so delivery is hard.

I'd look at sourcing a tweeter from naim (or maybe a pair to keep them the same vintage) and then it's just the casings that's holding the price back. If you find the replacement tweeters are v.expensive, there's your answer - you won't be expecting a good price!

The shape and performance of these speaker even now at circa 10 yrs old is fantastic.

I am tempted to freshen them up with a "max power" vinyl wrap. A Gloss Black or perhaps even a McLaren 12C Inferno orange. Its only real audiophiles that would seek out pair and I can only imagine they would want them stock/OEM.

Has anyone had any experience with wrapping or refreshing the appearance of a speaker box?
