Would really like a home sound system that I can set up a speaker in each room of house and play music through.

Want to be able play music from turntables in back room, have them heard in each room as well as music from Spotify (phone & laptop) and possibly access a communal hard drive.

Pretty sure Sonus will do the later but what about the turntables??

Thanks in advance

My Sonos has an input for broadcasting things like turntables around the house.
Not sure of the quality but Sonos is usually pretty good.

You'd probably need a phono amplifier - something like http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TURNTABLE-PRE-AMP-AMPLIF... - to make your turntable compatible with what the Sonos expects.

BUT - there are lots of new, and reputable, entries into the Sonos market. Another may suit you better.
Certainly lots of the newer stuff *looks* better aesthetically.

Take a trip to Richer Sounds and see what's what.

Thanks for the reply...

Been looking into a bit more and really want to get the audio system in the house working better.

So this is what I'm looking towards a little more.

I want to upgrade the sound in the lounge for watching TV/Film/PS4 but also have decent quality for music.

Would I be better using 2x Omni 20's, Sonus playbar or a decent soundbar (Yamaha YSP2500) - I can then use a HK adapter for the Yamaha??

I can also put a Sonus/Omni10 in the bedroom & spare room - Thats just spotify/music on the hard drive so easy to do.

IN the backroom as mentioned earlier I have a set of 1210's and dynaudios in the back room - I'd like to be able to send the spotify music to all speakers in the house so I can use the HK or Sonus adapter to send music to those speakers (& to the digital radio in the kitchen via Aux in??) but there might not be so many options to get the music from the 1210's back to the lounge/kitchen?

Thanks in advance - I'm a real newbie with regards to these sort of systems

We use a Linn Majik DSM network player/amp thing which has inputs for the turntable, CD player, TV, PS3 etc and streams them to Linn Sneaky box things in other rooms in the house.

It works with Spotify (and Tidal which sounds better but is double the price per month) and Apple Airplay.

The only downside is that it is not wireless - you need CAT5 cables and a network switch to make it work.
