Hi all, I'm after a soundbar for the back room and have come across this lg in pcworld/currys. I know i can beat their price quite easily.

But my main question is, is this the best available for the price range?
Room is a big issue and and normal 90cm wide bar won't fit, I have 85cm max. I can't find any other manufacturers who come close for power and features. As it's for a secondary room which is quite small, I dont want to spend big money.

Advice appreciated

Hi,
I just bought the LG 4540 soundbar, one model up from the one you are considering. I was close to taking it back as its impossible to adjust the sound except for about 5 presets and sub woofer volume.Initially connecting through bluetooth the sound wasn't great, it seemed people's voices were lost in all the booming. I bought a optical cable and things improved a lot. In hindsight I would only buy one of these types of audio products if they were fully adjustable. I don't know how they can sell stuff at this price that you can't even adjust the base treble.

Thanks for the reply.

I presume adjusting bass/treble via tv settings makes a difference although I'd expect not as much as having adjustable settings on the actual device?

I have it linked to a 42 inch LG 4k TV, when you connect the soundbar the other sound options seem to grey out, you can't select them. It really surprised me as the TV picture has about 40 options to adjust the picture where as the sound is more or less a like it or lump it affair.

Connecting via the optical audio cable improved the sound a lot, currently sounds fine. Bluetooth seemed to lose all the midrange and all you coukd hear was atmospheric bass.
