Hi,

Bought my Cyrus one amp the week they came out so is many years old, (well actually ordered the previous version but when it arrived at the Hifi shop Mission sent them the newer version which I did not even know they were being upgraded) and the quality is more than enough for my needs, I even have my TV plugged into the video channel and whenever we are watching music on the TV we turn down the TV volume and on goes the hi-if for a much improved sound over the TV speakers.

Anyway, over the previous few months the right channel occasionally starts crackling and then cuts out much to my annoyance and if I twist the "listen" knob on the amp quickly a few times the sound jumps back in so the problem appears to be in this area of the amp.

I don't want to upgrade or swap anything, is there anything I can do myself to cure this problem before sending it away and £££ to repair.

Apologies for the poor quality photograph,

Martyn
P.s. Blame Pesky iPad for upside down photo, it's the right way round in my photo folder !!!

I'd go for contact cleaner; cheapest attempt first. However, if it is on one channel only it is probably a capacitor on the output that needs replacing, especially if it's on older kit. Should be a cheap enough job.

I think Mission are pretty good at servicing stuff - so if it comes back it may be worth contacting them. Alternatively ebay a replacement
