My mum has $ky via RF in her bedroom and the telly has just gone on the blink.

So she needs a new TV but with an analogue tuner. Can you still buy such a thing or are they all digital now?

looks like I might have to dig out the VCR and a scart cable hehe

Hard to find these days.

You're more likely to have success with a wireless sender or one of these : http://www.satcure.co.uk/accs/Triax_Unilink.htm (which does what you're proposing to do with the VCR).

Really?? I just randomly check Samsung's website and everything from a top of the range 65" Smart TV to a 22" cheapo all listed analogue tuners.

The LG 47" I bought last week also has an analogue tuner so make of that what you will.

Allthough we have gone digital tvs are made for many european an worldwide markets. So until all 50hz 220v countries have gone digital you will still have analogue tuners.
Sky have deleted the rf output on new boxes now, so she will be ok until the box goes pop and even if she changes the box there are bits of kit that allow you to watch elsewhere.

Every TV I have seen or fitted recently still has an analogue tuner.

Could you not just use a SCART lead form the Sky box to the TV? (assuming the Sky box is local to the telly).

Presumably the bedroom TV that's gone pop is a 2nd TV fed by RF, the main TV will be scart or HDMI connected. Although we rarely use it we have a dinky little 17" LCD in our bedroom connected like this, its fine for our purposes.

You just buy an i/o link to add the RF out and magic eye functionality to the new sky boxes.

I have never seen a TV without an analogue tuner.

Even the 78" UHD Curved screen we fitted tonight still had an analogue tuner function.
