New Blu-ray player needed
Discussion
Well I'm getting rather bored of "old" kit becoming self-redundant. First my Panasonic Bluray decided iPlayer was no longer it's bag, and now my Sony one has agreed in solidarity. So I need a new BR player... No amount of hunting Amazon or manufacturer websites has actually come up with useful answers as to their respective "smart" features, so I thought I'd ask the collective here before buying yet another box that works perfectly well but is suddenly rendered useless by lack of support.
I need:
iPlayer
BBC Sport
Eurosport Player
Amazon Player
Anything beyond those is a bonus. Frustratingly my Panasonic telly does iplayer / eurosport player but not Amazon, the Panasonic BR *did* iplayer and little else, the Sony BR *did* iplayer and Amazon but not Eurosport Player.... grrrr.
So, one box that can manage those three ickle things? Pretty please?! Couldn't care two hoots about wifi as it'll be wired. UHD likewise unnecessary at this stage as the Panasonic plasma is in the kitchen and this is for the lounge where I'm still using my Kuro 600M. Also Androidyness is pointless as everything else here is Apple.
As an alternative would a ROKU or NowTV box work? Their websites seem specifically designed to avoid saying what is and isn't available.
ETA - Just read the Roku thing doesn't do Amazon Prime player in the UK despite it being splashed all over the marketing. Ho hum.
